Karma Nosara is not a traditional resort. Instead, it is a large private residence designed around the kind of Costa Rican trip where families, friends or retreat groups want to stay together rather than occupy separate hotel rooms.
The full property offers seven bedrooms across two levels and can accommodate up to 19 guests. Nirvana forms the upper level while Oasis occupies the main floor, and the two sections can also be rented separately for smaller groups.
The setting is the main event. Open-air terraces, mature tropical vegetation and panoramic views towards the Pacific create the sense of being immersed in the Nosara landscape. The infinity pool is positioned directly towards the ocean, while a second pool gives larger groups more space to spread out.
Rather than restaurants and traditional hotel room service, the property is built around private living. There are gourmet kitchens, outdoor cooking facilities and large communal dining areas, making it particularly appealing if you plan to cook together or arrange a private chef.
Nosara itself adds much of the appeal. Playa Guiones is one of Costa Rica’s best-known surf destinations, while yoga, beaches and jungle adventures make the area especially strong for active and wellness-focused trips.
Karma Nosara therefore makes most sense when judged as a private luxury retreat rather than a conventional hotel. For a couple travelling alone, it would be excessive. For a large group looking for privacy, ocean views and a base for experiencing Nosara together, the concept becomes much more compelling.
